3 things I love right now
If you're not on holiday or watching the Olympics, one of these might make your day
Anthelios Invisible Anti-Shine Face Mist
Yep, shock news, I love something from La Roche-Posay.
I just spent a month in Valencia1 and used this daily on the beach for top-ups.
I leave the house with liberal application of the Biore Japanese formulation that I wang on about incessantly, but few things are less fun than reapplying a cream to your face with sandy hands. This is not a recommended method of facial exfoliation2.
Instead, I use this to top-up every few hours. It takes seconds to do and WORKS. A can lasted me about 10 days of 2-3 generous applications a day.
I wrote about this spray in the SPF article I posted in June, but in case you missed it, I am currently deeply in love with this product. Which does not make my eyes sting.
NARS Afterglow Liquid Blush
NARS has some great stuff and some not-so-great stuff. And their naming conventions can be wearisome3.
But this, THIS, is incredible.
You only need a tiny amount for deep pigment payoff and amazing durability.
I apply it directly to my cheekbone then blend out with a damp beauty blender4.
Powder feels icky on my skin in the sun, this handy little tube is now a permanent fixture in my routine. AND it won’t smash on a marble floor and break your heart.
Lumene
Lumene is a Finnish brand of skincare that’s been around since the 70s. Their main marketing schtick is that their products are mostly entirely ‘natural’5, vegan and sustainable.
Regardless, they work and their moisturisers/hydrating products are bangers.
I use this serum virtually every day, mixing it with my tinted moisturiser. Their intensive moisturisers (eg this one) are also great overnight in winter.
I’ve been using their stuff for at least 5 years, but it’s always been quite tricky to source - their own website often had stock issues and availability on Amazon was hit-and-miss. It’s now newly available at Boots in the UK.
Woot!
(US readers, it’s stocked at Target)
A tiny something for the US only (I think)
In case you’re smarting from the injustice of not having Boots over there6, I believe this is US-specific.
The original Urban Decay Naked palette is BACK as a limited edition. Get it while it’s hot. As far as I can tell, it’s only available for US consumers.
Also potentially good news for anyone planning a trip there. Safe flight if so x
Periodic reminder not to pay more than you need to for any of the above
Until the next time x
Somewhat contextually relevant, but mostly just a brag
For some recommended methods, help is at hand here:
If you’re new to NARS, this will give you an idea (NSFW)
Whatever the fuck *that* means.
Which is a very real grievance
